Pack the Bags

You’re invited! Join us September 27 from 12-4 PM at the Returning Citizens Support Group, 32 Prince Street, Newark, NJ 07103 for our BOOK LAUNCH PARTY + Backpacking Stuffing Event! Bring your appetite and hygiene products/clothing donations!! Families are welcome. 

At 12 Noon on the 27th, we will be celebrating the NEW RELEASE of our collaborative book, In and Of the World Again. Written and edited by many members of the Returning Citizens family, the book offers both personal narratives of those who have succeeded and the guidance and advice of people who are supporting returning citizens every day. We will have food catered, book copies available for purchase, and lots of conversation!

Stick around for 2 PM on the 27th – in collaboration with community partners, we invite you to help us stuff backpacks as care packages for our brothers and sisters who are returning home. To help us stuff as many backpacks and care packages as possible, and if you’re able, we ask that you offer donations like: 

• A new backpack 

• Toothpaste, toothbrushes, floss, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc. 

• New or gently used clothing 

• Grocery gift cards
